Make sure our check is right for you

Some organisations have specific police record checking requirements, for example:

  • If you're applying for a job with the Commonwealth Government.
  • Where the check is for visa, citizenship or other immigration purposes.
  • If they need a certificate issued by the police agency in your state (i.e. a Tasmania Police Check provided by Tasmaina Police).
  • When adopting a child from another country.

Before you apply with us, we recommend you contact your potential employer, recruiter or volunteer organisation to make sure an Australia Post National Police Check will meet their needs.

How to get your police check for Tasmania

Why get your police check for Tasmania from Australia Post?

Tasmania leads the rest of the country with regard to economic performance, according to a recent CommSec State of the States report. In line with this positive economic outlook, James McCormack, the federal government's employment facilitator for Tasmania's North-West and North told The Advocate that jobs were booming in hospitality, disability services, aged care, freight and transport, manufacturing and forestry.

Many employers in these areas – in particular; disability services, aged care, manufacturing and forestry – require that you hold a valid and up-to-date police check.

If you’re a case worker, aide, work with the elderly, a manufacturing machinist or work in forestry (you may be a wildlife biologist or recreation technician), a police check for Tasmania from Australia Post is a clear choice. Recognised in Hobart, Tasmania and across mainland Australia, our check also enables you to save your details, making applying for your next check with us, a breeze.

Also, our check is Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) accredited so you know you are getting a complete and accurate history. It’s trusted by government departments, licensing authorities and employers.
