What is Express Post suitable for?

Express Post is suitable for sending items up to $100 in value. If your item is valued over $100, you should purchase Extra Cover5 – it provides loss or damage cover from $100 up to $5,000. Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, if your parcel is lost or damaged, and you haven’t purchased Extra Cover, compensation of up to $100 and a postage refund may be payable.6

Sending 5kg or less? If it packs, it posts.

Our Express Post satchels are part of Australia Post’s If It Packs, It Posts packaging range.

That means you can now pack up to 5kg in any of our Express Post satchels – you get a flat rate to send it anywhere in Australia based on the size of the satchel you choose, not its weight. There are four If It Packs, It Posts sizes, each with its own flat rate.

And to give you more options, we’ve introduced Express Post Parcel Boxes – they’re also part of the If It Packs, It Posts packaging range.

Simply fit your item in any of our Small, Medium, Large or Extra Large Express Post satchel or box, and you’ll now pay the flat rate for that size. As long as it’s 5kg or under, if you can pack it in, it posts.
