Choose the right packaging

Ensure your item fits well in the packaging. It shouldn’t be too loose, or crammed in too tight.

The packaging should be durable and secured with heavy-duty packing tape.

Ensure your item won't bend during transit

Rigid mailers are ideal for sending an item that could bend during transit. Alternatively, protect your item with thick cardboard before packaging.

Pack fragile items carefully

We don't offer a 'fragile' service, however we try to handle items with care. Wrap your item in tissue paper or bubble wrap before placing in your packaging.

Fill empty spaces

Use shredded paper, tissue paper or void filler to ensure your item doesn’t move around. This will protect it during transit.

Items that can't be sent in the mail

There are some items that can’t be sent in the mail because they could pose a risk to health, safety, property or the environment. These include:

  • explosives
  • gases
  • flammable liquids

There are other items that can’t be sent in the mail because they’re prohibited by law. These include:

  • live animals
  • perishable food stuffs, including fruit and chocolate
  • sharp and pointed items, including knives and shears
