From Tuesday 8 August 2023, you will no longer be able reload your card in-store at Australia Post, online via ‘My Account’ or on the Cash Passport mobile app.

Card Closure

On Thursday 5 October 2023 the card will be closed, which means all cardholders will no longer be able to use their cards.

1. Check your card balance through My Account or by calling Card Services on 1800 549 718 within Australia or +44 207 649 9404 internationally.
2. You can continue to use your card to make purchases instore and online, or to withdraw funds from an ATM until Thursday 5 October 2023.
3. Cash out any remaining balance through My Account by Thursday 5 October 2023 or contact Card Services on 1800 549 718 within Australia or +44 207 649 9404 internationally.
4. Once the card is closed, destroy the card by cutting it in half diagonally, ensuring the chip is destroyed, and dispose of it securely.

We are discontinuing these products in order to simplify and improve our prepaid card offering.  We will continue to offer the Australia Post Travel Platinum Mastercard, which provides more features and benefits for you to enjoy. 

You can continue to load funds onto your card either online or at Australia Post offices up until 7 August 2023. After this date, you will not be able to load any more funds onto your card.

If you have a zero balance on your card, there is nothing you need to do.

Step 2: Select transfer and then choose cash-out.  

Step 3: Enter your bank account details.(Funds will be transferred to you within 1-3 days.)

No. Mastercard will not replace expired cards. If there is an available balance on the expired card, you should contact contacting Card Services on 1800 549 718 within Australia or +44 207 649 9404 internationally and request a cash out.
