Make sure our check is right for you

Some organisations have specific police record checking requirements, for example:

  • If you're applying for a job with the Commonwealth Government.
  • Where the check is for visa, citizenship or other immigration purposes.
  • If they need a certificate issued by the police agency in your state (i.e. an NT Police Check provided by the Northern Territory Police Force).
  • When adopting a child from another country.

Before you apply with us, we recommend you contact your potential employer, recruiter or volunteer organisation to make sure an Australia Post National Police Check will meet their needs.

How to get a police check in the NT

Why get your police check for the NT from Australia Post?

Nearly two thirds of Northern Territory job opportunities are located in Darwin, with the largest industries for employment being public administration and safety, followed by social assistance and healthcare (National Skills Commission). This is supported by data from the Industry Skills Advisory Council NT, showing demand for sales workers, professionals, managers, technicians and trades workers in Darwin increased by more than 5% in the quarter to July 2021.

Employers are looking for soft skills along with qualifications and work experience. Increasingly, hiring managers and recruiters look for great communication and teamwork. And they may require you to provide a recent police check certificate.

If you need a police check for the NT, look no further than an Australia Post National Police Check. Out check is recognised in Darwin, the top end and throughout Australia. And, if you’re in a role that requires regular up-to-date checks (like an occupational health and safety officer or Aboriginal health worker) our check lets you save some data to use on your next check with us.

And, our check is Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) accredited so you know you are getting a complete and accurate history. It’s trusted by government departments, licensing authorities and employers.
